About

Community Food Strategies works to empower local food councils with knowledge and organizational capacity to positively impact their community’s local food and farm economy. We are intentionally a multi-organizational initiative to reflect our collaborative approach and the wealth in partnerships.  Our team consists of five food systems experts that provides leadership and technical support to communities interested in food council development across North Carolina. Similar to the communities we work with, our strategically aligned partnerships leverage the unique strengths of our team.

We offer a diverse skill set that includes robust community engagement, strategic planning, organizational development, adult education, academic research, systems thinking, dynamic facilitation experience, and community food systems strategy.

Led by the Center for Environmental Farming Systems (CEFS), this project’s partners are Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA), Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project (ASAP) and Care Share Health Alliance.
